Starting on Friday the 27 th of April, TEKSİF 17 th Constitutional Congress came to an end on Sunday the 29 th of April 2007. The Congress was attended by three hundred delegates representing 29 branches dispersed throughout the Country.
The Congress made some amendments to the Union Constitution, adopted numerous resolutions and came to an end on Sunday the 29 th of April 2007 following the elections for various organs of the Union. Former President Zeki Polat did not seek reelection at the Congress. He was therefore replaced by one of the former Vice-Presidents. Former General Secretary and the Secretary Treasurer retired. They were replaced by two newly elected branch presidents. After the elections the new composition of TEKSİF Executive Committee became as follows:
